Berggårdsskolan is looking for a student assistant

Berggårdsskolan is currently seeking a student assistant to be placed in a subject area class.

Job Responsibilities

The position involves work both during school hours and in the after-school program with students from grades 1-6. Our teaching is based on the new curriculum with new syllabuses. For the adapted primary school, there are two syllabuses, one where subjects are taught and one where subject areas are taught. Upon the student's admission to the adapted primary school, a recommendation is made regarding which syllabus the student should study. The recommendation is based on the degree of intellectual disability (ID) the student has. The environment and communication are adapted to each student's needs. In the after-school program, we follow the curriculum for after-school programs (which currently applies to all forms of primary school) but adapt the activities specifically based on the group of children.

Working with us requires close collaboration with the students' guardians, colleagues, and other external actors who are important for the students' health and development. The position also includes providing pedagogical support to students in the classroom alongside the regular teacher. For the after-school program, you will be responsible for planning and implementing activities together with the other staff.

About the School

Bergsgårdsskolan is a primary school for grades F-6 and an adapted primary school for grades 1-6. The school is located in Hjällbo, close to a natural area and five minutes from the Hjällbo tram stop. The school has two parallel classes and approximately 70 students in the adapted primary school for grades 1-6. The school has an experienced student health team consisting of a school nurse, counselor, special education teacher, and psychologist who are always available to support the work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a high school education and further training in the field, such as in intellectual disabilities. You should have knowledge of AAC, preferably in the form of training. You should also have at least 6 months of experience in the field. Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities and autism diagnosis is an advantage.

As a person, you have the ability to work collaboratively with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You start from the equal value of all and create a good atmosphere in meetings. You are adaptable in your work approach based on changing conditions and new information. Furthermore, you remain calm and secure in pressured and difficult situations.

Welcome with your application!

The position is a temporary position for at least 6 months.

The position will be filled subject to it not being claimed for internal reasons.
